Oakland - Golden State Warriors not strengthened his star player, Stephen Curry, in Game 5 of the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Houston Rockets. But, it did not prevent the Warriors victory.
Curry just be a spectator when the Warriors beat the Rockets 114-81 at ORACLE Arena, Oakland, Wednesday (04/27/2016) night local time. The 28-year-old point guard was forced to miss due to a knee injury.
The victory in Game 5 ensures Warriors qualify for the Western Conference semifinals with a score of 4-1. They will play the Los Angeles Clippers or the Portland Trail Blazers.
Klay Thompson contributed the highest figure for the Warriors with 27 points. Draymond Green added 15 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
"All the people, they think Steph injury and a map of the power would change completely. However, we think otherwise," said Green.
"None of us can do this alone," added Thompson.
Curry position in the field is replaced by Shaun Livingston, who performed quite well in Game 5 with 16 points.
"We're blessed, we're really lucky, you lose your point guard, you lose the MVP, and can play Shaun Livingston, he is a fantastic basketball player, a great teammate," said Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
